Wendi has been commissioned for many book covers, portraits, annual reports, editorial and advertising assignments. She photographed for Hearst's Victoria Magazine, The Berkley Group, Penguin Putnam, Random House, Bantam, Simon & Schuster, St. Martin's Press, Little Brown, Sony Records, Young & Rubicam, Florida Atlantic University and others, including fine art and portrait commissions. The artist's compositions have been included in gift books and on greeting cards, gift wrap and gift bags.

She started photographing in New Orleans in the mid 80s, while working as a designer and copywriter for The Times-Picayune. While there she produced the re-creation of The Picayune's Creole Cook Book - the classic 1901 cookbook. Soon after, she moved to NY to pursue her career in photography.

Wendi's photographs have been exhibited internationally and are included in private collections around the world. Her work can be viewed by appointment at the artist's studio in Denver, CO, where she is making digital photographs for fine art & and assignment, experimenting with digital manipulation, selling antiques and designing for print and web.

Sesquicentennial Edition

This hand-painted photo collage is the original jacket of the Sesquicentennial Edition produced in New Orleans, and published in 1987.

A pile of shrimp crowns the English Art Nouveau plate in the flow blue Staffordshire Iris pattern, which dates to 1903.
It sits atop a detail of vintage ivory lace over a blue textile.

Random House Edition

This hand-painted sepia photo was commissioned by Random House, which picked up distribution and published the cookbook in 1989.

The wonderful type was designed by Robert Aulicino to fit the photograph.

It features Newcomb Pottery (on the spine), an Art Nouveau Staffordshire Iris plate from the Sesquicentennial Edition cover, along with an antique coffee pot and a facsimile of The Picayune newspaper with beignets on a beautiful Art Nouveau cupboard.
